Student Activities
Help Locke Students go to San Francisco!
For the past few years, a teacher at Locke High School created a website like this to raise money to take her students on a three day science based camping trip to Catalina. Last year, I was fortunate enough to join them on this trip. The students not only loved the hands on approach to science, but in only three days conquered many of their fears of leaving home and realized that there is a world outside of LA. This year, we are planning on taking our students on an overnight trip to San Francisco. Here, the students will be taken on a tour of Alcatraz Island, Pier 39 and fisherman's wharf. They will also be visiting San Francisco's Exploratorium and take a tour of the city on a cable car. The next day, we will head toward UC Berkeley, where the students will be taken on a tour of campus. We will then head down to visit Stanford University and stop by the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum as well as the Tech Museum of Innovation. It is going to be the first time any of them have ever been on an airplane. In order to make this possible, we need the generous donations of our family and friends. All donations will be followed with a tax-deductible receipt from Green Dot Public Schools. Please help us make this trip possible for our students.
